At Bristol Animal Rescue Centre, staff continue to care for a high number of animals across the centre. As always, the focus remains on the welfare, safety, and wellbeing of every animal in their care.

With day-to-day demands high, the team has been prioritising hands-on care and wellbeing above all else.

While care has always come first, we’ll be honest, names… became less of a priority.

As a result, temporary names were assigned across the website. We would like to formally apologise for the results.

You may now encounter animals such as:

  • Damp Sock

  • Microwave

  • Tax Evasion

  • Gemma From Accounts

  • The Smell of Rain

  • Pepe the Frog

Staff have described the outcome as “not our best work.”

The campaign, titled “Rescue Them From Their Names,” sees animals listed on the website under these placeholder names, encouraging members of the public to adopt and give them a fresh start with a name of their choosing.
