About Sammy

Sammy is a 4 and a half year old male crossbreed dog.
He came to us as a stray and has won the hearts of everyone he meets.

Although he can get spooked by new or unexpected noises he’s very adaptable and springs back quickly after a bit of reassurance. However, Sammy is not great at being left for long periods of time, so would benefit from someone at home most of the time to start with and who is prepared to work with him until he gets used to being left alone.
He enjoys long walks and is very friendly with dogs he comes into contact with. Sammy would be quite happy living with another dog following a successful introduction.
Because he has thick curly hair he will need brushing a few times a week but he loves being groomed! He’s not keen on the tangles though so little and often is best to keep his coat in tip top condition.
The way to our Sammy’s heart is definitely through his stomach. He’s not a great player of toys but absolutely LOVES treats of any kind, which is great for training purposes.

An energetic, cheeky, friendly chap, Sammy will complete any family looking for a four legged companion.

Our dogs are vaccinated against Kennel Cough using Versican Plus BbPi IN. There is an extremely low risk of Bordetella bronchiseptica (the bacterial component of the vaccine) being transmitted to humans. As a precaution, immunocompromised individuals, young children, older adults, and people with chronic respiratory conditions (such as asthma or COPD) should take extra care when interacting with recently vaccinated dogs or dogs showing signs of kennel cough.

Dogs may shed Bordetella for several weeks following vaccination. It should be noted that not all cases of kennel cough are caused by Bordetella, and the risk of transmission to humans is considered extremely low. These precautions are advised as a preventative measure only.

If you are a match, Bristol Animal Rescue Centre reserves the right to cancel the adoption at any point throughout the process. While we make every effort to find the perfect pairing for you, circumstances can sometimes change and therefore Bristol Animal Rescue Centre may, on rare occasions, need to cancel adoptions. We’ll always be in touch to discuss this with you and explain why.
