About Kilo
Kilo is a very handsome brindle boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Despite having had a difficult start in life, Kilo came into our care via RSPCA Inspectors but his past doesn’t define him. He is a truly wonderful, sweet and trusting boy who deserves a patient and understanding home where he can continue to grow in confidence.
Kilo loves training and is a clever boy who already knows sit, paw and down. He really enjoys learning and will need an adopter who is happy to continue his training at home, helping him build confidence and learn calm boundaries.
He is currently working on muzzle training, as he will need to wear a muzzle when walking in certain public spaces in the future. He is doing really well with this and, importantly, he absolutely loves getting out and about! Quiet walking routes are needed for this lovely boy.
Kilo can become overexcited, particularly when playing with toys or during cuddles. When this happens, he can get a little bit silly, so his new family will need to understand how to manage these moments appropriately. We will be happy to show his adopters what works best for him and support them throughout the process.
Because of his background and sheltered early life, Kilo can sometimes feel worried or overwhelmed by new experiences. His introductions to new people will therefore need to be slow, calm and gradual, ideally taking place in a familiar environment. This applies to meeting potential adopters as well as any new friends he may encounter. His adopters will receive behavioural guidance from us and should also be prepared to continue learning about how best to support him. Kilo is a wonderfully trusting and affectionate boy who has so much love to give.
Once he feels comfortable, this handsome boy enjoys cuddles and when he’s in the mood he will sometimes wander over and position himself between your legs for a lovely bum scratch! He’s also quite an independent boy and enjoys entertaining himself with toys, including soft squeaky ones.
And then there is Kilo’s love of water! He absolutely adores anything that resembles a paddling pool — wherever he fits, he sits! 💦
Kilo’s ideal family will be someone sensible, patient and committed to continuing his training, helping him understand the world at his own pace and giving him the calm, consistent guidance he needs, you must have your own secure garden with a 6 foot boundary and ideally in a semi-rural setting. He is currently taking a medication to help him with his anxiety and this will be weaned off in his new home. He is also taking Zenrelia which is helping him to maintain healthy skin and ears, this is ongoing.
