Mr Chandler’s Legacy: How One Man’s Love for Animals Lives On
Every once in a while, a story comes along that reminds us just how powerful kindness can be; even after someone’s gone.
Meet Mr Chandler, a cheeky little Yorkshire Terrier with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. But this pup’s name isn’t just cute; it carries a truly special meaning.
Chandler was named in honour of Mr Chandler, an elderly gentleman whose final act of generosity is now changing the lives of countless animals in need. Mr. Chandler had named Bristol Animal Rescue Centre and the RSPCA in his Will, ensuring his love for animals would continue to make a difference long after his passing.
Sadly Mr Chandler had been the victim of financial exploitation. The Financial Investigation
Unit worked tirelessly to make sure justice was served, and that his wishes were respected including ensuring compensation that was due was also given to his named charities. Thanks to their dedication, funds recovered through the investigation were returned to where they were meant to go all along.
To celebrate his compassion and legacy, Bristol A.R.C has named one of their newest residents after him, a sweet Yorkshire Terrier now known as Mr Chandler.
This pint-sized pup has already become a staff favourite, charming everyone with his playful personality and boundless affection. And thanks to the late Mr Chandler’s lasting gift, this pup is just one of the many animals who will receive love, care, and a second chance at happiness.
The police also donated a bundle of toys to make life at the rescue centre even brighter.
Erin Stow, Individual Giving Officer at Bristol Animal Rescue Centre said ‘We are so grateful to those like Mr. Chandler for their generosity, as well as the Financial Investigation Unit for ensuring his wishes were fulfilled. Mr. Chandler’s legacy donation will be a lasting support for thousands of animals that come into our care, and we hope it inspires others to consider leaving a gift in their Will to support animals in need.’
