You can give a little bit of extra love to the dogs, cats and small animals in our care by buying them something that they really need. We’ve put together our pet wish lists with the help of our Animal Care team, and we update the list regularly to reflect the current needs of the animals in our care; whether helping to provide the basics like food, or gifting items that will add a little extra comfort and joy for the animals whilst they stay with us.

We’ve added the items we need to our Amazon Wish List which you can find here, but these items can all be found in your local pet shop too (if you’re shopping at Pets at Home, please don’t forget to sign up to their VIP lifelines scheme and add us as your chosen charity).

If you’re buying goods from local pet shops they can be brought and dropped off to our Adoption Centre Reception, which is open seven days a week from 9am – 5pm (we are closed on bank holidays).

As we are a city centre rescue we have very limited space, and we need to make the most of every nook and cranny for the animals in our care – for this reason we kindly ask that supporters only donate items that are on our wishlist, as unfortunately we just don’t have room to store other donated goods.

Supporting pets in our community

As well as caring for animals onsite here at Albert Road, we also support pet owners in our local community via our Outreach Clinics and via other local organisations such as food banks. If we’re lucky enough to receive more items than we can use on-site, we may donate them to help vulnerable pets in our community who are in need of our support.

From time to time we may need other donated goods, like blankets or towels; when we do we will add a list of the things we need to this page.

At this time, we are not in need of bedding, blankets, or towels. Your support means the world to us, and we encourage you to check back later for any updates on our needs.

Please note that we are unfortunately unable to accept the following:

  • Cushions or pillows
  • Damaged animal beds
  • Damaged towels/blankets/sheets
  • Used/ dirty extra large dog beds (as we are unable to wash them if they are very large)
  • Opened or damaged bags of pet food
  • Prescribed medications
  • Out of date pet food
  • Duvets
  • Damaged cages/carriers
  • Damaged plastic/other animal beds
  • Knitted blankets
  • Batteries
