Did you know…
One of the most significant gifts we’ve received from a Will is for our veterinary clinic? Built in 1995, this is thanks to a single gift from Louise Wall. Her £800,000 legacy funded the entire project, enabling us to provide the facilities we needed to care for hundreds of animals each year.
As Damian Pacini, our Principal Veterinary Surgeon, explains:
“Our clinic is able to perform routine treatments and surgeries, but also complex procedures which improve animal welfare. For example, when flat-faced breeds like pugs, French or English Bulldogs come into our care, some have life-limiting conditions due to their facial structure and excess skin folds. Some surgeries have included widening the nasal canal to help them breathe, or procedures to correct painful eye conditions.
The ability to respond quickly and care for an animal all in one place allows us to help even more animals in need. Our clinic is vital in helping the animals in our care live a pain-free and happy life.”
Legacies like Louise’s do more than construct facilities. They shape every aspect of our work, from providing life-saving medical care to improving the daily lives of animals in our care. They allow us to respond to new challenges, expand our facilities, and support more animals each year. But gifts don’t need to be large like Louises’, they can be any size, they all make a difference.
