Roo is a beautiful blue Staffordshire Bull Terrier, around 5 years old, whose story is one of resilience, care, and unconditional love. She was brought to Bristol A.R.C. by the RSPCA, who had to intervene in her previous home as she needed urgent medical attention. From the moment she arrived, Roo has received the love, attention, and care she had always deserved.

Her early life was challenging. She has faced difficulties that many dogs should never experience, including medical issues and the demands of having had at least one litter, possibly more, before coming to us. While in our care, Roo also experienced a phantom pregnancy, an event that can be both physically and emotionally taxing for dogs.

When Roo first arrived, her ears were so badly inflamed from past neglect that it was uncertain if they would ever heal and allow her to be truly comfortable. Alongside her other medical needs, this caused her significant discomfort. Roo’s health is now carefully managed, including luxating patellas (which means both knees sometimes slip out of place), and skin allergies that require long-term medication and a sensitive diet. Thanks to her current treatment, these do not affect her daily life. With patience, care, and the right treatment, Roo has overcome these challenges and is now happy, comfortable, and thriving – A place we once worried she might never get to.

Her experiences have shaped Roo into a gentle and affectionate soul. In foster care, she thrives on routine, reassurance, and plenty of cuddles, and she has grown into a confident and loving companion who adores being close to people. She is remarkably strong, and we are incredibly proud of her.

Roo is now ready for the next chapter of her life: a permanent, loving home where she can enjoy the simple pleasures of life, give and receive affection, and be the devoted companion she has always been meant to be.
