Bristol Animal Rescue Centre is hugely supported by the work of our wonderful Volunteers. We simply couldn’t do all the great things we do for the animals in our care without their help and support.
There are lots of volunteer roles at Bristol A.R.C. offering a real variety of ways to get involved. Our volunteers help us with all areas of our work, from the hugely popular animal focused roles (like dog walking), to fundraising and events help and everything in-between. The roles on offer change regularly depending on the needs of the animals in our care, so please do keep an eye on our Volunteer Vacancies below for updates.
We recognise and value our volunteers for the wonderful ways that they get stuck in and help us to provide the best care for the thousands of animals that come through our doors every year. Every volunteer role is important and valued by the team here at Bristol A.R.C. We know time is precious, and we hugely appreciate every minute that is donated.
What do our Volunteers do?
Our volunteers support us throughout all areas of our work, assisting our staff team to deliver the best possible care and support for the animals that we look after.
Please note that due to the nature of our work, the majority of our volunteering roles are for ages 18+ only. There are however many ways our younger supporters can help the animals in our care, head on over to our Get Inspired page for some great ideas, or contact our fundraising team for more details!

Event & fundraising volunteers
Join us at local fundraising events and help us to raise awareness of our work in our local community, while collecting donations and having fun!
We have a wonderful group of kind volunteers who support our animal rescue centre, but we are always looking for more hands to assist with our community fundraising and main events throughout the year!
If you’d be interested in becoming one of our event volunteers, and helping out at events such as our Open Day and Christmas Fair, or registering your interest to become a community volunteer, drop us a line on firstname.lastname@example.org and we can let you know what’s coming up!
Corporate volunteer days
We organise corporate volunteer days for a maximum of 8 people at a time. We usually start the day with dog walking, and then in the afternoon we might have some light maintenance or gardening work you can help with. Sometimes, if the day is close to one of our events, you can help us with some event organisation.
Please click here for more information and how to join us on a corporate volunteer day!
Dog walking is one of our most popular ways of volunteering. We are not currently accepting any new applications, as we work our way through a large number of applications. Thank you for your understanding.
