We recognise and value our Volunteers for all the wonderful ways that they get stuck in and help us to provide the best care for the thousands of animals that come through our doors every year. Every Volunteer role is important and valued by the team here at Bristol A.R.C. We know time is precious and we hugely appreciate every minute that is given to us.
Our Volunteers support us throughout all areas of our work, assisting our staff team to deliver the best possible care and support for the animals that we look after.
There are lots of Volunteer roles at Bristol A.R.C. offering a real variety of ways to get involved. Our Volunteers help us with all areas of our work, from the hugely popular animal-focused roles (like dog walking and animal care roles), to fundraising and events help and everything in-between. The roles on offer change regularly depending on the needs of the animals in our care, so do keep an eye on our Volunteer Vacancies for updates.
Here are just a few of the roles carried out by our fantastic volunteers...
Why volunteer with us?
Our volunteers come to us for many different reasons, but are united in their enthusiasm and commitment to great animal welfare. Volunteering is a very rewarding experience – you give your time and make a real difference to our work, ultimately helping thousands of local animals in need each year.
You can develop your current skills, and learn new ones! As well as feeling good about making a real difference, you are likely to make lots of new two and four legged friends! But don’t take our word for it, read our volunteer stories here.

Most volunteer roles will require a minimum time commitment, which varies depending on the nature of the volunteer role. All of our volunteers must be aged 18+, but our younger supporters could consider helping us to raise vital funds instead, our Get Inspired page has lots of great ideas, and our Fundraising Team is here to help every step of the way!
