Community talks, school visits and speaker requests
We are incredibly grateful to all of the local community groups who raise valuable funds for the charity through events, competitions, benefit evenings or making us their 'Charity of the Year.’
We work closely with university groups, schools, Rotary Clubs, Sports Clubs, Choirs, Music Societies, Amateur Dramatics Societies, Church groups, Masonic Lodges, and Social Clubs.
Connecting with people in our community is a key part of our work to improve the lives of Bristol’s animals. We love telling people of all ages about the hard work that goes on behind our doors, sharing the stories of some of the animals that we have helped, and learning about responsible animal care.
How it works
It’s also safe to say that we love nothing more than talking to people about Bristol A.R.C. A member of our team or a volunteer will visit you to deliver presentations ranging from 20-minute assemblies to hour-long sessions. If you are a school looking for a different kind of school assembly, a presentation to your Rotary Club, WI group or any organisation whose members would like to know more about what we do, please get in touch. We work with students in KS1, KS2 and KS3, in school and youth group settings. Our speakers require the facility to show a PowerPoint. (N.B. we do not show graphic pictures of animal cruelty, but there will be some before/after pictures of animals who may have come to us in a challenging condition.)
We ask for a minimum donation of £35 to cover the costs for this work, and are happy to talk to you or your group about other ways to get involved with us.
