Corporate volunteer days

Put your out of office on and join us for a fun-filled day!

What does a corporate volunteer day involve?

No two corporate volunteer days are the same. A volunteer day could see your team helping us with tasks ranging from walking our doggy residents to helping with event preparation, fundraising or gardening, or it could be supporting us with some general maintenance tasks – like fence painting around the site. Your group will also have a tour of our Rehoming Centre, which will give them a glimpse behind the scenes, and let them in on some of the funny, the weird and the wonderful stories of our former animal residents!

Your team would usually spend their day as follows:

  • A welcome session and introduction to Bristol A.R.C. with refreshments
  • A short induction including any relevant training (depending on the tasks planned for the day)
  • A tour of the Rehoming Centre (and if possible our Clinic)
  • Hands-on volunteering: from dog walking to painting or even event help, it all depends on what we are doing and where we need your help most on the day
  • A break for lunch (please note you will need to provide your own lunches – we have fridges on-site that you can use and a small kitchen, or there are ample shops and cafes etc. nearby)
  • Back to hands-on volunteering
  • The opportunity to meet some of our animals and the team that look after them

Volunteering at Bristol A.R.C. is a great way for local companies to get involved with our work, whilst also bringing people together from across your business for the perfect team day out. Teams often leave feeling motivated and inspired upon their return to work.

Do you have any opportunities for teams in 2021?

We usually run our corporate volunteering days from April – September, although we sometimes have projects outside of these times that companies can get involved with. Teams volunteer with us between 10am and 4pm. We're a really small team, and we receive lots of requests each month from local companies and teams who want to volunteer (mind you, who wouldn't want to come and be around our lovely animals?)

Due to the current ever changing environment, we have made a few changes to our programme and have reduced capacity so it's best to get in touch with us asap, email fundraising@bristolarc.org.uk or call us on 01179 803 906.

Who can volunteer?

We are able to welcome up to 6 people per volunteer day at the moment, until we are able to ease restrictions, but we'll do our best to accommodate all your needs. If you have larger teams, please do contact us to discuss your requirements, we may be able to offer multiple days.

Cost:

We ask companies to commit to raising or donating £300 per volunteer day (based on 6 volunteers or £50 per person). Whether you plan to raise this via a one-off fundraising event or a straight-up company donation, we are happy to help support your fundraising activities in any way we can. This helps to cover the cost of the materials used on the day and our staff resources who support your team on the day. Included in this price is tea and coffee/cold drinks throughout the day, as well as biscuits on arrival, use of our meeting room for the day and free parking for up to 6 cars. We’ll also provide a volunteer certificate for each person taking part. If you choose us as your Charity of the Year you will be provided with a volunteer day (for up to 6 people per day at the moment) for each £300 you commit to raising for Bristol A.R.C.

Are there other ways my company can support Bristol A.R.C.?

Definitely! From a 12-month 'Charity of the Year' partnership, sponsorship, or a one-off fundraiser in the office – we're experienced in supporting local companies and working together to achieve our shared aims and goals. For ideas and information on how our partnerships work, or for an informal chat, please contact Laura on ldaniel@bristolarc.org.uk or call us on 01179 803 906, we'd love to hear from you.
