We have an exciting opportunity to join our Reception Team. The role of Bristol Animal Rescue Centre is to provide care for unwanted domestic animals until new homes can be found. We provide care for thousands of animals every year and ensure that their welfare and needs are met on a daily basis. We face daily challenges with the number of animals we need to care for along with different species and breed-specific issues. Being an inner-city centre provides its own challenges and due to our convenient location in the city, and the fact that we hold the Stray Dog Contract for Bristol City Council, we do not know what animal/species/breed will enter our doors next.
Our staff work strongly as a team to ensure a smooth transition for every animal from entering the Home all the way through to adoption, including individual assessments, any treatment they need and that they are cared for in the best way possible whilst in a kennel environment. We see their entry here as a new beginning so time is taken to ensure we meet the needs of each individual animal.
It is imperative for the running of the centre that we are engaging positively with members of the public and our supporters. With our two reception areas we provide an open door policy, seven days a week for animals in need and for pre-booked appointments to enable potential adopters to meet their ‘pawfect’ matched animal. Our teams work together to learn and understand the issues animals face in a kennel environment and recognise the welfare needs of all animals in that environment and that they are recorded in the correct way so any information can be accessed and passed to the animals adopters.
